Mind you, at the time I was twelve years old and Ronald Reagan was president. Ick.
Around the same age, In used to have a nightmare about driving in a car with no driver, or me the driver, or sometimes one of my parents, and we would drive off a cliff and down into an enormous fried egg the size of a football field. We had to try to fall into the white part, because if we fell into the yolk part we would be paralyzed.
Ice makers are indeed scary, although garbage disposals are scarier.
