And I miss it by ONE day.
Sep. 27th, 2012 04:53 pmI thought it was today, and was all pleased with myself for remembering an anniversary for the first time in ten years. But I didn't quite. Alas.
Anyway, yesterday was my ten-year anniversary at lj, which is INSANE, but AWESOME. I know I have become one of those non-posters, but please know that I still read, and think of you, and I am so happy to have this journal, not only because I can spout off strange things or vent or be ridiculous if the need arises, but also because I made a lot of friends through lj, either by meeting people or getting to know people I already knew even better.
I love this site and journal, and I am grateful for it and you.
Since I'm here, what's new?
Uhhhhh, not much. Well, okay. Hmmmmm. Graduated (which I may have already said?), thought I had a job, so I didn't look for other jobs. Realized too late I didn't have a job, scrambled to find a job, and found a part-time job at an amazing school. Alas, the pay is crap and there are no benefits. But at least I'm in a classroom every day and learning like mad.
So there's that.
Uhhhhh, I joined weight watchers this year and have lost almost 40 pounds, which doesn't suck. They also just opened a Flirty Girl Fitness around the corner from me, and I am going to three or four classes a week, which is fun. Not only do they have standards, like circuit training, Zumba, dance and aerobics, but they also have classes like pole dancing and burlesque. I have taken the burlesque class (seriously, unexpectedly, awesome workout, especially on the thighs), and it rocked. I haven't taken a pole dancing class, but I have taken a pole fit class (using the pole as a stabilizer for strength training), and it kicked my ass quite spectacularly. Alas, it only offered on days I can't be there (I made the one class because of the teachers strike, rah).
Pierce is amazing and practically an adult. I still spend a ton of time with him, and he is my best guy.
Have a picture:

Standing on an excavator, of course.
Fun fact #1: My sister also wore that jacket when she was two-and-a-half (possibly I did, as well).
Fun fact #2: I know he is on an excavator, not a backhoe loader, because an excavator is on caterpillar treads and a backhoe loader is on wheels. Also, the excavator's cab spins 360 degrees. This is one of the many, MANY things I have learned about construction vehicles, thanks to my nephew's obsessive love of construction. I can take him to the nature museum and the children's museum, and out to lunch and to the playground and a dozen other places, and pass a jackhammer on the street, and when asked about his day, the first thing he'll say is, "I saw jackhammer".
Well, that or "I fall", if he happened to trip.
Kids.
Here, have another picture:

Peek-a-boo!
Okay, I must away, as I have Club Cardio in a half hour (first time at the class. Should be fun. Or painful).
