My Poor Pussy!

1) So. My mom took my cat to the vet yesterday because it was time and she also seemed out of sorts. And she had a slight, severe hair matting problem. Poor Peekie (the cat).

It wasn't good. Don't get me wrong, she's healthy. But she is being completely shorn, save her head, feet and tail, and she has to have some teeth pulled because they are completely rotted. Poor thing. She's nine now, and that isn't so old, but still. She has been so healthy for so long, it is sad that she sudden't has all of these problems.

And my mom has guilt. She feels terrible and thinks she's lonely and she feels so bad about the teeth because she had no clue it would be a problem and she (Peekie) eats hard food and soft food but apparently it wasn't enough.

Poor Peekie. And Poor Mommy.

2) (spoilers for Angel)

Seriously. I know thems fightin' words, but it really seems to be true. And I am so pleased I am a Spike fan because if I wasn't, I'd probably be a bit irked.

The new TV Guide- All about Spike. A bit about about Gunn and maybe a mention of Fred and a touch of discussion about the loss of Connor and Cordy, but mostly it was a Spike article. With a slightly pointed quote by DB at the end. Reaffirming that the show is still about Angel. Uh huh. I think that when DB was all keen on having Spike join the cast he wasn't really aware of the serious following JM and Spike had. DB has said that he hasn't followed Buffy since he left, so it's possible.

3)

Lends further credence to my "Spike is the new Angel" theory. If the promo was ten seconds long, then maybe 3 seconds (or thirty percent) of the promo was Angel. And that was really to set the stage for Spike.

I admit it. I got fangirl chills and did a happy wiggle-dance-squee thing. I liked the fading up on him (mmmm) and then the half a second clip of a screaming Spike which seems to coincide with the spoilers I have read. YAY! Four weeks! Is it October yet?

Actually, the way this year is going, it will be October before I know it. 2003, where hast thou gone?

Poor kitty! I am surprised my cats don't have this problem -- they are longfurs and I do not brush them often enough.

And I am proud of having posted this comment while averting my eyes from the spoilers! I am trying so hard to remain spoiler-free this season.

Poor Kitty, indeed. I feel so bad for the sweet little bitch (I make no false claims. I love my cat. She loves me. We love each other. But she's a bitch). Hopefully she will be much better after this.

I wonder if they make kitty dentures?

And very nice avoiding the spoilers. I was like that for Buffy all last year.

If you did happen to see them, though, they are only casting spoilers. Nothing too big. :)

I've managed to miss the spoilers, but the three-second Spike promo I caught after AtS last night excited me so much I started to tear up. Which, admittedly, made me feel like an idiot, but didn't make me any less teary.

I was filling out a job app, and had left the tape recording after the exec producer card. I realized that we were in promo territory, squealed, ran, and kneeled in front of the TV in worship. After it was over, I bounced, literally, while dancing, squealed some more, and called home to gloat.

Oh, that's so sad for your kitty. That being said, be prepared. Because she's going to look fricking HILARIOUS. You will laugh, and you will feel slightly crappy about laughing (mostly because, if you do so in her presence, she'll be terribly offended), but you'll still do it.

Because shaved cats? Funny. When my oldest cat had to have part of her tail amputated, I was a mess. And then we got her home, with her now stubby six-inch windshield wiper of a tail, and the shaved part at the end? Looked like a nipple. You can't NOT laugh.
