Are car's still made out of steel? Were they ever? Am I more ignorant of cars than any other person on the planet?

Are they made out of fiber glass?

In most cars, some of the components are made of steel (like the frame and the body, for example) and some are made out of fiberglass or plastic. What is made of what depends on the make and model, but most cars will have some of each.

They were once made out of steel, or at least metal. Now a lot of cars (especially Saturns) are made with plastic bodies. A lot of cars nowadays have fiberglass fascia, but some parts are definitely still metal. Mostly now it's just the frame inside the car that's steel.
