Hello beautiful , wonderful, wise friends of lj-land. How're things.

I have a question, if it's not too much trouble.

Regarding receipts, bills, pay stubs, etc. How long should one hang onto them before they are just a waste of space.

I ask because I have pay stubs and bills dating back to 1994.

I'm thinking I don't need those. But I thought I would double check.

Also- I have a drawer with many receipts. Not all, but a good chunk of them from the last, oh, decade. Can these be disposed of?

Thank you in advance. :)

ps- did everyone see my pretty icon?

If you do decide to dispose, make sure you shred, not just toss. Identity theft isn't as fun as the tv shows and movies make it sound.

And, yes, I did. It's very pretty.
