Crazy Saturday

Yesterday was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.
For Peekie.
For any day that involves not only a trip in the car but also a veterinary destination is a giant FAIL in the books of life.
And yesterday was particularly bad. For Peekie suffered the indignity of carriers and shots (my god the shots) and claw clipping and and being gassed and blood work and, yes, yes there was anal expression.
Not good at all.
Needless to say she spent the rest of the day seriously pissed at me.
(I can be okay with this now because she seems to have gotten over the bulk of her fury).
I, of course, documented her rage for all to see:
Quiet rage.
So you see what I mean.
Lucky for her (and by her I mean ME ME ME!) my boyfriend is made of win and drove us to the vet so we didn't have to take the train which would have added an extra (loud) layer of trauma to the whole day.
As it was, she didn't speak to me for most of the day. When I would go to pet her she would do this:

She wouldn't even purr if I pet her!
And then, if I called her - with love in my voice! - I would get this:

Clearly it was a difficult morning for all of us.
~
Peter has been sick all week and I have been running around like a headless chicken and yesterday the exhaustion just caught up to me. The vet was horrible (I was almost in tears at one point when the vet was checking out her teeth. And the hissing! It was awful) and the week was just a challenge.
We were going to go to a party a few blocks away for a few hours but, truthfully, I didn't have it in me. I mean, the thought of putting on lipstick was almost paralyzing.
So instead we sat on my couch all afternoon and watched season one of How I Met Your Mother (which, come on, of course I bought).
Why AC, you may say, how delightful! Which episodes did you watch?
No, no. When I say we watched Season One, I mean we watched Season One.
It was legen - wait for it - dary. Also, we may of watched "Slap Bet" from season two (duh, of course I got that as well) because how could we not? Robin Sparkles! Non-pixelated Robin Sparkles!
So, yes, while I will try to hold out it is entirely possible that I will watch all of season two over the next few days.
I know me, you see.
BUT!
Before I do that I have a substantial amount of dishes to do (all from the last two days! WTF?) and I have some cooking and salad making to do *and* I have some cleaning and cat-cuddling to do.
But yesterday was pretty darn fantastic. Especially as it started with this:

If you can't see what's in the picture, it's okay; there's nothing wrong with being a Muggle. I just happen to not be, clearly, because I have the proper reading material.
And a kick-ass fella.
xoxo and please cross your paws for good blood results for my Sweet Babboo.

Date: 2008-09-28 08:32 pm (UTC)And she, I'm sure, will give you so much love as you are lovely and loving. I, on the other hand, am terribly cruel and horrid.
thank you for the healthy vibes.

Date: 2008-09-28 08:11 pm (UTC)I watched "Slap Bet" yesterday, too! Just 'cause I felt like seeing Barney and Marshall getting slapped around. Also, now that you've seen S1, isn't "The Pineapple Incident" a near perfect half hour of television?

Date: 2008-09-28 08:34 pm (UTC)Word. She's all, I'm not sick you stupid human! I'd be just fine if you FED ME!
Which I did. Because I'm not above bribery.
Dude, "The Pineapple Incident" was brilliant (also, WINNIE!) but I keep remembering and loving "The Duel".
And when Barney makes Robin an honorary Bro. That, my friend, was AWESOME!

Date: 2008-09-28 08:56 pm (UTC)And "Zip, Zip, Zip" fills me with shippy happiness. He's just so wonderful and sweet with her, especially after she reveals she still has feelings for Ted. *dreamy sigh*

Date: 2008-09-28 09:21 pm (UTC)And I like them together, I have to say.
And I like Ted, but I think most of my "weakest character" feelings are directed his way. I just don't like him all that much. though I think he does a good job of holding the show together (It's hard, I would imagine, to be the lead of an ensemble and play a normal dude without having balance issues, if you follow). He's good, he's just not my fav. Possibly because he's so very much like people I know.
And OMG! I LOVE THAT THEY SEEM TO LOOK LIKE REAL PEOPLE!
Robin! Thin, not emaciated! Victoria! Same thing! And they wear clothes I would also wear! I mean, Aly is the skinny one (and she is tiny which, how funny when she's in St. Cloud?) by far and NONE of them are fat but they all look so normal.
It's refreshing.
Also, Barny before he bacame Barney. ZOMG I almost died.
Okay, I have love.

Date: 2008-09-28 09:01 pm (UTC)Is that a stuffed Monster Book of Monsters? At first I thought it was a cake decorated like one and was totally blown away. I have no idea why I thought it was a cake, though.
And in closing, you are adorable.

Date: 2008-09-28 09:23 pm (UTC)It's there, oh I know it.
And it *IS* a Monster Book of Monsters! Peter gave it to me in a box with holes poked in the side and I was all, "Ha! It's like the Monster Book of Monsters!" and it was!
Pretty darn awesome, I must say.
And now I want a MBoM cake.
That would be nothing but win.
=D

Hmmmmmm...
If i may, i think these might be more informative photos of what the book looks like:
Also, one of your photos is sideways. Just thought you should know.
By the way, i love your posts. They are so -- how do you say? -- brilliant. Which is a funny thing to say because anyone reading this comment has also read far enough to see how brilliant you are.
And now, a song, for all your commenters who might not have heard it yet:
There's a ton of awesome performances of this out there, but i like this one because the guy really seems to be having fun. Here, one more rather comprehensive video:

Date: 2008-09-29 02:02 am (UTC)Yeah, I saw that. It wasn't sideways when I opened it up in my image capture thingee, but it, for some reason, uploaded that way.
I just like to think that Peekie defied gravity when I tried to pet her. When she gets pissed she gets *pissed*.
They are so -- how do you say? -- brilliant.
Dude, you just made me grin like a crazy grinning fool!
And yesterday was pretty fantastic (other then the cat-related parts that were full of misery and anger). Thanks for being there with me.
*MWAH*
