Pretty nice

While my new apartment doesn't have a balcony it does have a fire escape/back stairway that has a balcony-like landing on every floor.

There is a thunderstorm happening right now- a real doozy of a storm, too, with the almost constant lightening, pouring sheets of rain and thunder that sounds like it's coming from the roof.

One of my favorite things about my old apartment was watching thunder (and snow) storms over the lake.

I don't have that here, but I can actually open my kitchen door and stand on the landing and smell the rain. Feel the wind. Watch the trees right outside my door. And, okay, maybe worry a little bit about the koi next door.

But it's a pretty amazing thing to be a part of and how lucky that I can do it right from the comfort of my own home.

I think I'm gonna like it here. . .

That was one of my favorite features of my last apartment. I had a kind of balcony and could just open the door and breathe it all in. It wasn't the best place, but I loooved that. Congrats and good luck, my dear *cuddles*
