1) In five words, explain what ended your last friendship?
Age, time, life, different paths
2) How was your prom night?
I quite liked it. I remember some making out on the couch. After both proms, actually (mine and his). I had an excellent starter boyfriend.
3) Do you have any famous relatives?
Well, I am a descendant of Heber Chase Kimball, the right hand man of Brigham Young. He had 43 wives (I am descended from the second wife, AKA the Known Favorite) and 65 children. Rock!
4) Have you taken out loans to pay for college?
No.
5) What did you receive last in the mail?
A Macy's flier- Up to 85% off this Friday from 9:00 to 1:00! (wtf?)
6) What beverages have you drank today?
Water and coffee.
7) Do you leave nasty messages on people's answering machines?
Absolutely not.
8) What's the most painful surgical procedure you've had done?
Well, the appendix removal probably hurt but I was asleep during the procedure and eleven so i can't say I remember that well. It hurt a LOT before the surgery, though. And I had a really bad partial root canal that resulted in an emergency rest-of-root-canal.
9) What is out your back door?
I *beg* your pardo- oh. Like of my house? I see. Well, I don't have a back door in my building (though there is a back entrance to the garage). In my new apartment, though, I will have a fire escape thing that has a lovely, serene view of a koi pond. Yay! I can brush up on my fishing!
10) Do you usually go out on the weekends?
Out to dinner, if that counts.
11) Do you like what the ocean does to your hair?
Yes! It does beautiful, wonderful things! I occasionally lament the move from New York to Chicago because, I believe, the salty ocean (well, bay) (well, river) air makes my hair all curly and awesome. Chicago makes my hair very sad, indeed.
12) Have you ever visited a planetarium or do you even know what one is?
I refuse to accept that there are people in the world that don't know what a planetarium is. And yes I have been. This past winter, in fact!
13) What is your favorite flavor of pudding?
An excellent question. On a day to day basis, chocolate, I think. But a warm rice pudding with raisins is oh! so heavenly. Possibly the only thing better is the pumpkin rice pudding from Rice to Riches in SoHo.
I miss New York.
14) Describe your keychains:
They hold my keys? One is the generic "looks like a lock" chain I got for free with my apartment keys. And the other is a plain old key ring.
15) Where do you keep your change?
In my wallet. Or the bottom of my purse. But then, when I think about it, I collect it in a tin and then when the tin is full (or mostly full) I roll it and save it for a rainy day. I love rolling coins.
16) When was the last time you got up and spoke in front of a large crowd?
I gave a toast at my sister's wedding a year and a half ago. That's probably it.
17) What kind of winter coat do you have?
A black wool dress-ish coat. It's long and adequate, but this year, I think, I will finally go to North Face and get a sleeping bag coat. I need one in Chicago. Last year I got the boots. I'm ready for the coat!
18) What was the weather like on your graduation day?
Sunny and hot. For both high school and college.
19) Do you sleep with the door to your bedroom open or closed?
Open unless a certain gray and white beastie is making a nuisance of herself in which case I shut it and tune out the mews.
20) Is there anything purple within 20 feet of you?
Well, there are purplish stripes on the Kleenex box. AH! The Netgear box! That looks purple from this angle! Maybe it even is!
21) What is the strangest thing you've put in the microwave?
A cat. NO! I KID! I have never put a living thing in the microwave, that I know of. Also, I have no idea. I am pretty mundane in my microwave usage.
22) Can you speak any Japanese?
I can say hello. And sushi. Sashimi. Sake. Unagi. I have now exhausted my Japanese vocabulary.
23) Do you look good in the color yellow?
Can't say I do.
24) Do you spit or smoke?
I do not spit. I do not smoke. Mono cured me of the nicotine addiction (though to be fair I never did spit) (tobacco) (yeah, I went there).
25) What is your favorite color(s)?
Blue, blue and blue! Most shades of blue that aren't American Southwestern turquoise shade or teal.
26) Ever played an instrument?
If you mean played, like, the act of bringing an instrument to your lips, or your hands to keys/strings then I really have. The list includes: recorder, piano, trumpet, flute and guitar.
But I never played them well. I showed the most promise, though, on the guitar and piano.
27) Do you believe in Bigfoot, or Sasquatch?
Probably in my youth. I was probably afraid of them.
28) Ever been to a palm reader?
No, but I once pretended to be one.
29) Did they tell you the truth about your future?
Heh.
30) What are you thinking about at this very moment?
That this is a long meme. And I should put my laundry away. And I hope I don't forget to go to the doctor in the morning.

Coffee, hot cocoa, I'm on a diet ginger ale kick at the moment (I don't know) and historically I have had something of a diet coke obsession.

My back is a bit achy, but mostly no. I did just discover a new random bruise on my arm, though.
35) Have you ever ridden in a taxi?
Good lord, yes.
36) What is the last alcoholic drink you had?
Champagne? Champagne. On the Fourth.
37) Did you do anything special last night?
Dinner and Buffy with Peter, which I think is pretty damn special.
38) What is your very favorite food?
I think maybe peanut butter with apples.
I just had half of an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie (no raisins! Made the *right* way!) only because I am going for my monthly blood-letting tomorrow and I know that oatmeal is good for your cholesterol. Wilfred Brimley told me and he wouldn't lie.
