The next step
Jun. 1st, 2008 09:54 pmWell, I have just had a lovely weekend with Fleet that culminated with an event that. . . well, I think it's pretty big.
Really significant, actually, and something that I have been holding off on and kind of waiting on but he kept asking about it and I would hedge but then it was *such* a great weekend and we had *fun* and it just seemed like the right time and I don't regret it and I think it can only lead to wonderful things and it was a huge, important advancement in our relationship.
Tonight we watched the first two episodes of Buffy together.
We are embarking on a Buffy (re)watch.
He's never seen an episode.
I haven't watched most of the episodes in at least a few years.
I'm excited and nervous and really hope he likes it.
Actually, before Darla even showed up on the screen - before random hoodlum even broke the window - I paused the DVD and told him, in no uncertain terms, that this was kind of a big deal and he didn't have to like it, of course he didn't have to like it, but please don't diss, slander or disparage of it around me because it would possibly ruin everything we have.
Okay, maybe I wasn't *that* dramatic, but the sentiment was there.
And he liked it!
Well, he likes Alyson Hannigan so that helped and he seemed to like the first two eps. He asked a lot of questions and I hedged a bit or let him know that it will be explained in future episodes but overall I think he really, really liked it.
YAY!
So that was something of a something.

Tomorrow is my first full day of work in four weeks. Finally! And I think, after this weekend, that I really am feeling so much better. I mean, I am probably going to have on and off days for another few weeks, but my on days are, I think, much more typical then the off. Hooray!
And this weekend really was lovely. Fleet came over last night and we walked (over two miles! Me! Healing!) to my friend's house for dinner with her and her fiancee. It was a lot of fun and we were there until almost midnight. And then this morning we woke up surprisingly early (before nine! What the heck?) and went to brunch and hung out for a while before going to the Lincoln Park Zoo which was a lot of fun and, as it is, somewhat depressing. There were screaming children and I (finally) had cotton candy and there were monkeys and bears and lions and tigers and llamas and giraffes and ever so much more! And since we've been talking about going pretty much since we met it was nice to finally go, even though I was exhausted by the time we got home.
But then we watched Buffy and he left about a half hour ago and it was a faboo weekend and tomorrow I am going to work *all day* like a real person!
I hope I'm not bored . . .
I hope everyone had lovely weekends. I'm off to read the flist.
xoxo

Date: 2008-06-02 11:24 pm (UTC)Sorry! Unclear!
My friend Hannah is engaged, not Susie.
Susie can't get engaged, anyway, because her fella, Bob, is still married. His wife has advanced Alzheimer's.
