Happy Harry Potter day, everybody!
I have had such a nice morning! A practically prefect overcast morning.
I woke at 5:30 which is the norm these days (stupid norm) but fell back asleep until around 7:30. In that few hours of sleep I had a very nice dream about getting a great deal on a huge apartment in Chicago for a lot less than I am paying and it was so nice. And I went to a ball with my mom and sister and that was nice, too. And I was concerned about the apartment because I really wanted it but I had just resigned my lease in Mew York, but my mom said it was okay to break it. Actually, now that I think of it, it was two apartments, and I got my choice of which one I wanted. My cousins, lived in them and they were both moving. John's was on the second floor, and Caroline's was on the third floor. I think I liked John's, but I wanted to take Caroline's because the back room was huge and it came furnished with a large screen TV and then five wide screen TV's set side by side so if I wanted to watch something panoramic I could. It also had two snooker tables (ask me if I know how to play snooker. Hell, ask me what snooker is. I think it's like billiards. But she had 'em and I wanted 'em. And I think I could even kind of play).
Anyway, I woke up for real at 7:30 and lay in bed for about an hour rereading "Buffy Summers and the Spiders from Mars" for about the 400th time. In case you don't know, it's the forth in MustangSally and RivkaT's Bowie series and it rocks. You can find it via
mustangsally's journal. She has a link to the site there (and I would link the story, but I can't remember how to do it and I am too lazy to look it up at the moment. It would be so nice if all coding was uniform throughout sites. It would make my life so much easier, and I think that is really the main reason that it should be done. :)
Around 8:15ish I got up, took a shower, got dressed (in my comfy jeans with a huge hole in the ass. They will be my comfy cut-offs as soon as I get the initiative to take scissors to denim) and took a nice walk down to CVS where I picked up . . . The Order of the Phoenix!!!! Hooray! I am so excited. And it was easy-peasy to get. No wait, it was right behind the counter. The guy in front of me got two. I also got q-tips and mascara, in case you were curious.
After packing up my purchases I went to the former greasy spoon (now kind of nice and obscenely overpriced) diner where I had a western omlette with swiss cheese, bacon (I forgot about the ham in the omlette) and and whole wheat toast. To be honest, it wasn't very good. Waaaay too salty, the lot of it. And it was about $12.00 which is insane, but I'll live.
Then I went to get waxed and pedicured! Yay! Waxing sucks, yes, but is necessary, especially since I hadn't done it since right before Flashback (*sob*! Will I never see James again? I have no fear that I will see the rest of you, though). And now my toes are a very pretty red (always red. I am a red pedicure purist) and I got the girl who gives the best foot rubs, so that was very nice. Then I got some coffee and came home which takes me up to about now. I am doing a masque (in am almost futile attempt to stave off post-waxing break out, but I keep trying) and listening to my new radio, which is always keen (and I have found that I listen to the radio a lot more now that I have a remote control. Laziness, thy name is AngelChicken).
Now I am going to futz around in the net for a bit and then settle myself in for a long day of reading OotP until I have to go drinking to celebrate the birth of Stupid Ex. Bah. Though I am thinking that I will be tres cute tonight with my newly waxed face and pretty toes and I get to wear my new cute lacy shirt so maybe I will turn heads and get numbers. That would be nice. Of course, I don't plan on staying too long as the drinking meets at nine-ish and I can't see myself staying out too late, but it'll be fun in any case.
Have a loverly day, everyone!
