I think I've outdone myself

My level of productivity today was, frankly, astounding. I am so happy with myself and I woke up well and kept doing things all day and it was so satisfying and nothing huge but lovely nonetheless.
I woke up around 8ish (7ish) and lounged a bit in bed, then showered and got groceries and came home and did laundry - including my comforter! The laundry room was practically empty! On a Sunday morning!
Then I ran my dishwasher through, vacuumed both my bedroom and living room, went to Whole Foods where I picked up some stuff for my mom and myself, came home, went through my 1.5' stack of magazines and pitched most of them, cleaned my kitchen, made brownies for work, made turkey chili, hung my mirror and my Art (Finally!), cleaned my kitchen again, and that's about it.
But it was so wonderful. And while I did stuff this afternoon I listened to two disks of the HP: GoF audio book, which was lovely. Actually, I finished most of my stuff before I finished the second disk, so I lounged about in my living room and waited for the second disk to finish (I had to find out what happened! Would Harry beat the Horntail? Would he and Ron start speaking again?! I needed to know! Actually, the disk ended before I found out either of those things, but having read the book more then, uh, thrice, I'm pretty confident I know the answers. Unless the audio takes an unexpectedly dark turn sooner in the story than the book . . .)
ANYway.
In other news, I have a zit on my chin of traumatic sitcom episode proportions. Seriously, this is bad. I look like Bruce Campbell. I have been masqueing and cleaning and all that jazz. It sucks because I never broke out like this in high school or college. I'm broken out in a few places around my chin and mouth (hello hormones. I hate you) and it is NOT COOL.
Also, I updated my Flickr account with some pictures of my trip to NYC and a few others. Take a peak, if you so desire. You can see that I have fantastic hair in New York. In Chicago, less so. BOO!
Now, these are pictures of pictures as I don't have a scanner, so they aren't all that great. But here they are, anyway. Enjoy!
This is a picture of my mom and dad taken sometime in the mid-seventies, before I was born. Or conceived. It's my favorite picture of my parents and I keep it on my dresser.

This picture is me and my dad taken at a wedding when I was 13, I think. It's amazing. He was already sick in this picture. It's not my favorite picture, but it's the best shot I had and I haven't gone rooting through the bulk of my pictures yet.

This picture is, I think, in the spring of 1982, at David's Christening. He was so wee! He's single digit months old, Jenny is a little over three (check out the glasses!) and I'm a little under six. This is my very favorite picture of my family. It isn't the best picture of any of us, but we are such a unit and so *together* and I adore it in every way.

So those are the pictures.
OMGOSH! I forgot! I was playing with Peekie last night, nothing huge, just mild rough and tumble and suddenly she did not like what was happening and she HISSED at me!
Good lord, that was startling. Apparently there was a play-line and I crossed it and she reacted by channeling SATAN. Yeesh. Thankfully I still outweigh her by quite a lot and she has very little teeth. I'm not threatened. Also, she's snoring at the foot of my bed at the moment which isn't all that chilling, I have to say.
It was certainly a moment.
And on a completely different note, I found pumpkin ice cream at the supermarket this morning. YAY! It's, I think, the first time I've bought a pint of regular ice cream in years. It's very delicious. I want to bathe in it, though I suspect it wouldn't help my current acne situation. Oh well. I'll just have to eat it instead.

Date: 2007-11-05 01:10 am (UTC)Heh, another reason I love cats. That was *me* when I was a kid and my brother and I wrestled. I never knew when that line would be crossed, but suddenly I would stop having fun and start wanting to bite. Oy. (The Fuzz, on the other hand, has never reached that line with me. All of our play is agressive play-fighting, but I always know it's in fun because he uses only teeth, no claws.)
OMG pumpkin ice cream. Need to look for that.
Thanks for sharing the pictures of your pictures. I especially love the one of your whole family. You're so happy!

Date: 2007-11-05 01:16 am (UTC)Peekie hasn't ever reacted like that before, to the best of my recollection. I think maybe it's that she's getting older. *sniff* She's all curled up in my side now, though, so I think we're good. =)
I can't believe how hard it is to find pumpkin ice cream! You'd think it would be everywhere all the time! Someone in the ice cream flavor deciding factory FAILS!
We are a happy family, it's true. Though poor David looks confused. I think it's because he can't see. He, mom and Jenny have had horribly vision since forever. HA HA, suckers!

Date: 2007-11-05 01:28 am (UTC)And I think you know already, but I love that picture of your parents with hats! And of course, you as a child are just as adorable as expected.

Date: 2007-11-05 02:20 am (UTC)My parents with hats make me happy. You know what makes me sad? I have no pictures of *you* from my trip to New York! Or Donna, for that matter. Next trip is the people picture trip. I proclaim it!

Date: 2007-11-06 01:52 am (UTC)And you should not clean. You should continue to post about your trip and there should be pictures. Priorities, Nutmeg!
Poor Peekie. She is in my lap, purring, right now. She is sweet, love, really. Sweet, sweet love.
And pumpkin ice cream is the best thing ever.

Date: 2007-11-05 03:46 am (UTC)Second, the ice cream. What kind is it? I need to look for this mysterious pumpkin ice cream. I've had pumpkin ice cream mochi from a place in Hawaii (though lots of places order from there, including a sushi place here). Mmm, pumpkin. Now I'm salivating.
Third, the acne. Doesn't it suck that we're breaking out now more than we ever did in high school? I always think of Bill Murray's character in Osmosis Jones when I have a large blemish.

Date: 2007-11-06 01:54 am (UTC)The ice cream is the kind. You know, in the blue and white backaging. Beckets? Bartletts? Something. It is quite tasty.
Third: My face FAILS! I'm getting waxed at the same place I got my facial and I am going to ask her what I can use topically that might help. Or maybe the stuff I have isn't good for my skin type. Who knows. Certainly not my face. =(
