On 'truthiness' being voted Word of the Year:
Colbert, who once derided the folks at Springfield-based Merriam-Webster as the "word police" and a bunch of "wordinistas," was pleased.
"Though I'm no fan of reference books and their fact-based agendas, I am a fan of anyone who chooses to honor me," he said in an e-mail to The Associated Press.
Hee! I am a fan of anyone who chooses to honor *me*, too!
*
I think I need a holiday icon. Anyone know of a good place to find one?
*
I am with hangover after my cousin called at ten last night and asked if I wanted to go to a bar with him and some friends. It was okay, but the drinks were stronger than I thought or the shots were not just plain old lemon drops *or* it was just really cheap liquor.
And someone was hammering this morning. Possibly in my living room. *rage*
*
I just talked to the Boy. He really is a very nice fellow. Actually, I mean it. I like him quite a lot and I think I am lucky to know him. Yay!
*
I'm heading over to my mom's in a bit where we will decorate the tree. Or watch DVDs. Or something. Maybe both. And I think my brother will be there. That'll be lovely.
*
I talked to my sister on Friday and she is having fun, but she might be a bit bored. She got a massage and a facial and she has been relaxing like crazy. They went snorkleing. And the big, romantic thing they were planning on doing was having dinner on the beach, but the wind has been pretty bad so they might have put the kibbosh in that idea.
Oh, to be bored in Hawaii . . .
*
I should get out of bed and start my day. Soon. Yes. And I totally will. I am all about the day starting. Here I go. Uh huh . . .
