Good things . . .
Aug. 26th, 2006 01:20 pm1) Tonight I am going to a black tie benefit at the Shedd Aquarium. When I was young, 13 or 14 I would guess, my Dad's law firm held their holiday party there. This was right after they opened the new (okay, not new any more, but still) whale and seas and stuff section. I remember thinking that it was so cool. And tonight I am going. I have a long dress. I got a manicure. There will be fish. I'm looking forward to it.
Also, there will be men in tuxedos.
2) I am not in a job that is slowly sucking away my soul.
3) I just had a delicious apple with peanut butter and some home made string cheese I purchased at the Farmer's Market.
4) I have gotten some really pretty new blouses this week and a cute pair of shoes. And I returned the things that I didn't love instead of hoping that it'll work if I alter this or lose weight or something. So I feel it was absolutely no-guilt money well spent.
5) I might take a nap.
6) I went to dinner with my brother last night. We went to some very delicious Italian place and we both had duck risotto. Holy decadence, Batman. It was so nice.
7) My hair is looking good these days.
8) My sister is getting married (okay, not new, but sometimes I think about it and I am just so happy for her I could burst).
9) I got my GG diploma and a NYC subway map framed (er, separately) and they look *awesome*.
10) I'm starting to get used to Chicago. In that, it's not feeling so foreign anymore. I still miss NY terribly, but I feel like I'm slowly incorporating myself into this beautiful new city.
