'Tis a busy day, indeed.

angelchickenToday was a good day, I think. I woke up, made my way into Manhattan- not as easy as you may think thanks to about a trillion subway changes, stoopid weekend schedule - sold some books to The Strand (woohoo! $37.00!) and then DSWed.
I do so love DSW.
I went to the DSW in Union Square. I found a practical and attractive pair of new shoes for my job. Then, in the clearance section, there they were: the pair that got away. The shoes that I saw months ago and wanted OMGSOBAD and didn't get because the heel is kind of high and I have lamented the fact I passed on it for so long and then I found them and I was so happy!
Until I realized that they were misshelved and were not a 9 or 9 1/2 but a 10. BLAST! FOILED!
Well, fortunately there is another DSW in Manhattan, only a few short miles away in Battery Park City, or close to it in any case. Tribeca? Whatever. On the Hudson around Chambers Street and the WTC Site.
So I went. And, uh, stopped at Jacques Torres Chocolate Haven for a slice of am almond puff pastry/banana/chocolate ganashe thing they have that is so very delicious, but that is neither here nor there.
AND THEY WERE THERE!!! Okay, not on clearance, but so what? They had them! And I love them and they make me so happy and I will post a pic of them when I get around to transfering the contents of my camera to the 'puter, but they are peach (second shoice after taupe, which wasn't in my size, and I really don't care because they're mine) and I am with joy.
Then I got home after some more shopping and passed out. And soon I will pass out again, for tomorrow also promises to be busy.
I shall wake up and then:
* Walk to the Jay St. station, stopping en route to get my yummy fruit shake.
* head back to the city to return Pair #1 of shoes that I liked but didn't love, because it turns out that when you are on your feet a lot flats are the preferred type of footware which is a logic I can get behind. And if I happen to find them tomorrow morning than YAY!
* Get a pedicure and possibly a manicure.
* Stop at Bloomingdale's because last week I got a very cute dress, but I need a new bra to wear with it that is less showy.
* go to the Whitney.
All of this depends on my feeling any sort of desire to go back to the city tomorrow, of course.
And now to sleep!
