A good end...
Mar. 12th, 2006 12:39 pmto a crappy week.
Last night was really nice. Really. I had my doubts just because I have been so extraordinarily pessimistic in recent weeks, but the week did end on an excellent note and that is wonderful.
I ended up at the Boy's place last night, which I was expecting. But, again, bad mood and thinking he's cancel as that was just my mind frame, but he didn't and I am so glad. He's been on a bread making kick recently, which rocks. Nothing fancy- basic country white- but it's home made which makes it extra delicious and preservative free. Yay! So he asked m to pick up an eggplant which I did and we ended up having fried eggplant with fresh mozzarella and tomato on home made bread which was *crazy* good. And we talked a bit about his wedding and how I'm doing with Jenny's wedding and my crappy week and his excellent vacation and this 'n that and it was nice.
We also watched most of Clash of the Titans which concluded the trifecta of mythological flicks from the 70s/early 80s (We started with Sinbad on New Year's Day and then Jason and the Argonauts a few weeks ago.
About halfway through the movie we got distracted which, might I add, was totally his fault, and so I didn't see how it ended, but the Boy assured me it was all happy and good and such. Good on them.
It was still early a few hours later and we were talking and happened to get on the subject of Star Trek which I had never seen (notice the past tense) and apparently that is an abomination and so I was whisked away to the living room (which, randomly, he had just totally rearranged. It looks ace) and forced to watch Star Trek: The Wrath of Kahn.
Hey! Does anyone have a semi decent sound clip of Kirk yelling "KAAAAHHHHHHNNNNNN!!!!!!"? And if so could they hook a girl up? Many thanks.
I quite liked TWoK. "You will always be my friend". *sniff*
Then there was bed and later sleep and it was all good and I haven't showered yet today so there is a lingering scent of boysmell which is a good thing. This morning we were up around nine and he made me coffee and I sloooooooowly forced myself to go home. I have three boxes of gems that aren't going to identify themselves.
Oh! And there are reasons that my EW subscription hasn't lagged once in 13 years. I really do love it. A few things, specifically, made me really happy in their post-Oscar issue (which is my most favorite issue of the year).

From the "Stopwatch'" (page 43):
0:38 -> Gay men everywhere scream as Jake Gyllenhaal is shown cheering for Dolly Parton after her performance of "Travelin' Through."
2:19 -> There's only one was to follow Altman: dancing hookers!
2:30 -> Applause-O-Meter! Who will be this year's most loudly loved dead person? Anne Bancroft's in the lead. Will Richard Pryor take it? Almost... no- it's Bancroft's year.
3:26 -> Cathy Schulman thanks her husband and wife (she meant daughter). Gay cowboys can't win, but we can pretend Crash has a bisexual bigamist producer.
Hee!
From "Go Figure" (page 54):
38.9 million -> Number of people watching the show in the U.S.
5 -> Number of people watching the show from heaven, according to the acceptance speeches.
9-> Number of times Salma Heyak futzed with her hair in front of 38.9 million people (plus five in heaven).
Hee!
From "The EW Awards" (page 56):
The Part of the Solution Award-> goes to Samuel L. Jackson, who said, "Hollywood has never been afraid to challenge our beliefs," knowing that soon, very soon, Hollywood will break yet another social barrier and put snakes on a plane.
BWAH HA HA HA HA HA!
Good times, yo. I love you EW.
And now I need food. And then I must identify.
