Hello. What's this nudge thing? I'm confused and my attention span is *just* short enough that I don't want to go look myself. Uh huh.

It's Friday. Sweet Jeebus, the week is over. And, okay, I'm planning on working tomorrow, but it is my choice. And if I don't, no big. Yee Haw!

I could talk and talk and talk, but I won't. I'll list. I do so love a list. =)

* I'm reading a book I quite like in a fascinating/terrifying way. It's called A Short History of Nearly Everything and it's by Bill Bryson. Now, I think it has to be a short history of nearly everything taken with a grain of salt, but it is still a far more interesting look at the, uh, history of nearly everything than, say, 90% of the textbooks out there. And it makes some stuff that never made sense to me make sense, so there's that. Except physics. I will never understand physics. Such is my cross to bear.

So, read it! It's great.

* The epilogue to the bank saga of last weekend I didn't bounce my check. If it had bounced, the checks wouldn't have been paid and the money wouldn't have been debited from the account. The panicked and apologetic phone call to my landlord was unnecessary, but better save than sorry. What I did, it seems, was overdraw the account which is in some way different than overdraft protection though I'm not sure how. What I am sure of is that the checks were paid and there is money in my account now. As there should be. I am also sure that I called the bank on Monday night and asked if they could waive the $60 overdraft fee as it was a first offense and they said no, but we can waive half of it. So I only have to pay the $30 instead. w00t!

The moral of the story: rent roulette is a dangerous game because the house always wins. Or just mail the check a day later in the future. Whichever. =)

* I saw King Kong on Wednesday.

Longest movie ever in the history of mankind. I can only assume that when we entered the theater we crossed into a time warp in which one minute was the equivalent to one week so instead of being 187 minutes the movie was 187 weeks. Or longer. The entire extended edition LotR trilogy was shorter.

But I liked the ape.

* Today I had lunch with [livejournal.com profile] madeofgold and her man and her man's two-year-old son who is the cutest child ever. Except for the part where I would give him a piece of his grilled cheese to eat (he wanted to sit next to me. Children like me. I don't know why) and he would dutifully chew it on up. Then he would removed the chewed food from his mouth give it back to me. By placing it in my hand. Hee! Kids are funny! And not all that hygienic. But it was okay: I've had my cootie-shots.

Okay, I'm tapped. Happy Friday the Thirteenth and all that. Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket. And also, I think it's a good thing that the moon isn't full until tomorrow. Whew!

Dude, the sister. So sweet, though I spent maybe 10 minutes actually in conversation with her, so there's that.

I have devoured your cookies! Thank you again! Times a million!

Hee! Ahh, I remember my teenage years. And it makes me so, so grateful that they are a distant memory. I got my first phone at 13 (not line, mind you. Phone) and it was a beautiful thing!

I actually just changed banks last year and BoA wasn't as big in NY as it has become. But my current bank is actually better than a lot of the national chains, so to speak. I think all NY banks screw you.

Mmmm, more cookies!

Oh man, my ass after King Kong was KILLING me, but hey, at least shorter than that last LOTR movie that my roomies forced me to see.

But i also liked the ape and even sniffled at the end.
