What is Monnui, you ask? Well, Monnui is a very serious condition I made up that combines the sleepiness of Mono with the apathy of ennui.

OMG I AM SO BOOOOOOORED!!!!!

Dude, on Tuesday night I went to bed at 7:30!

!

And not because I was tired but because there was nothing else I wanted to do! My cable has been out for almost a month and so I haven't seen any of the premiers, though I'm so spoiled I'm practically yogurt. The internet isn't holding my interest which, well, the mind boggles. I am so bored I have taken to exercising, people! This isn't right! I've gone for walks! Long ones! Even in the mad humidity.

This is madness, I tell you. Madness.

I was considering taking the day off of work tomorrow because the Monnui has definitely spread to the rest of my life making me a crabby colleague, but I realized 1) work has air conditioning and I do not and 2) what exactly would I do if I stayed home all day tomorrow? Feh. I need to find more stuff to do.

I got a text from Boy this afternoon. He was standing in front of a Wookie and had to share. Why was he standing in front of a Wookie? Because he is running lighting for a bunch of Fashion Week shows and the one tonight happens to be a show of original costumes from all of the Star Wars movies. He told me about the show a few weeks ago (complete with a little happy dance. He's so adorkable!) but for some reason I thought it was on Sunday. I was apparently wrong. So he is off in fangeek heaven and has been super busy with work, work and more work so I haven't seen him or talked to him beyond a few texts a day in almost two weeks. BOO! Eh, it's work.

Did I mention there is kind of a boy? Maybe. His schedule calms to something approaching normal soon and maybe then I will be more certain of whether or not there is a boy.

Ugh! Monnui! (Heh, I love saying it. Monnui, monnui, monnui! Hee. It's fun!)

What else, what else, what else. . .

Yeah, I've got nothing. Well, I have new sneakers, but I already told you that. And I just had butter pecan ice cream, but it didn't have any pecans in it which, the hell? Bad ice cream! Though that might be why it was only 99 cents. Hmmmm . . .

Oh! [livejournal.com profile] sweet_ali! Look! Either you totally live in my Bkyn hood or there is a run on wee gray kittens playing on their good looks for food.

Ummmmm, I got a new t-shirt. It was in the overstock bin, so it was only overpriced instead of ridiculously overprices. w00t! It is red and has '718' on the front in green numbers. It's cute. And brings me joy. Witness the joy!

*does joyful dance*

[livejournal.com profile] smidgy06 posted about Snapple White Nectarine Iced Tea and now I waaaaaant. But I can't find it. I am bereft. And, while on the subject of Snapple, they supposedly have, like, a million random facts on their bottle caps, so why do I keep getting the ones about hummingbirds? I know they are the only birds that can fly backwards and I know they have really fast heartbeats. And, while we're at it, I know that penguins are the only birds that can swim and not fly. Give me more of the "Congress has exactly 365 steps representing every day of the year" stuff. I did not know that. I feel all educated now. And I'm trying to figure out if they mean the entire building or some specific steps. Like the steps outside, or the steps to the cafe or something. Still, new and interesting.

La, la, la.

And, while we're at it, I know that penguins are the only birds that can swim and not fly.

But penguins aren't the only birds that can swim and not fly. There's a Galapagos cormorant, for one thing. And until people hunted them to extinction (18th or 19th century, I think), there was the Great Auk. And there are probably some other island bird species I'm either not specifically aware of or not thinking of at the moment. Snapple, what are you doing to people?!

I didn't know the thing about the Congress steps. That is interesting!

Monnui does sound like a fun word for a not-fun condition. It's good that you can still do that joyful T-shirt dance and think about the possibility of a boy despite the difficulty. Go AC!

Not only has Snapple led me astray, but so has whomever it was taught me that penguins were the only birds who could swim but not fly!

Heh, and I always, always think of you when I think of or see penguins. When I was at the coney Island Aquarium a few months ago I saw some very cute penguins and I thought of you. I am totally conditioned now. Which I dig. = )

Yay! T-shirt and boy! Both are good things. And having a full weekend is good, too, damn it! And maybe I'll see the Boy this weekend, and if not, then definitely next week. Yeesh. At least it's almost Friday.

The iced tea is so freaking good. :tosses you a bottle: I'm throwing lightly so that you'll be able to catch it.

Also?

The lids on these don't have any facts. I'm not sure if it's just these ones or if our Snapple bottles don't have them.

Thank you, puddin'! It's very virtually delicious. Mmmmm. And thanks for the light toss. I bangmyself up enough without a Snapple bottle to the head. =)

I'm so spoiled I'm practically yogurt.

I love that sentence. I also love the word Monnui, although at first I thought it had something to do with Mondays.

I hope your Monnui clears up soon. But the exercising is of the good! Good for stress, good for Monnui, good for... making you appreciate air conditioning. :)

Hee. I liked that line, too. I amuse me. =)

Monnui is my new favorite word. It just rollllllls off the tongue. And requires very little effort to say.

Maybe it's all an evil secret ploy of the tiny grey kittens, luring us in and then they take over our bodies and try to rule the world!

Or, you know, it could just be a coincidence ;)

Coincidence? Pfft! I totally think it is a ploy of the gray kitten cartel. "One in every household", is their battle cry! "Next, opposable thumbs! Then . . . the world!"

Yeah, I am far too awake for Sunday morning. =)
