I'm walking, yes indeed
Sep. 10th, 2005 12:47 pmSo, last Monday was Labor Day and I had off. Nice. I was thinking of rollerblading, but I had been on Saturday and gotten a yucky blister, so I decided to take a walk instead. So I walked from my apartment in Brooklyn to Union Square via the Brooklyn Bridge. It was awesome.
This morning I didn't have work, so I slept in a bit (eight o'clock! w00t!) and then decided that what I really needed to do was buy new sneakers (Saucony. I'm a purest) because while my Adidas' are cute then aren't ideal for long walks and I think wearing them on my long walk last week exacerbated the problem and that is why my blister became infected.
So I thought 'Why not do the opposite?"
And I did. This morning I took the train to Union Square, got some apples and honey from the Farmer's Market and then sneaks from DSW (OMG LOVE DSW!!!) then walked home, also via the Brooklyn Bridge. My reasoning was a) it's good exercise and b) I have always walked from Brooklyn to Manhattan, never the reverse. So I did that.
And now (or in a little bit, I will do laundry.
It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. I'm glad I've taken advantage of it. =D
ETA: For those of you that are curious as to what I mean by Brooklyn to Union Sq. this is it. The route isn't exact (you can just ignore the backtrack as I wasn't in a car so just walked straight over the bridge) (and thedriving directions use the Manhattan Bridge instead of the Bkyn Br) but that's the gist.
Who am I kidding? I love to brag!
