angelchickenToday I took off work, which is always nice. It's cool and overcast with the occasional bouts of hard rain and the perfect day to stay in bed and read and drink coffee and snuggle up all cozy.
So of course I went rollerblading.
But, to be fair, I didn't know that it was supposed to rain like a sumbitch (damn you, AOL weather) and it wasn't raining when I left my apartment around nine. No, no, it didn't start raining until the *moment* I got to the West Side bike trail. Feh. So I stood their for a few minutes thinking about whether or not I should try to wait out the rain and then, when it did start to slow, I contemplated the possible traction issues when rollerblading on a wet surface. Then I saw some other dude on rollerblades so I thought "what the hell" and strapped my feel in and off I went! Whee!
I ended up doing eight miles, the first seven of which were remarkably dry (as the rain had stopped). The eighth mile? Not so much. But by that point I was going to finish my eighth mile, damn it, so I did. And I was very, very wet. But still pleased with the morning.
Now I am home and clean and dry and wearing my too big jeans that are fairly unattractive and my Fordham Lacrosse tee (Our drinking team seems to have a lacrosse problem) which is old and soft and so, so comfy. My plans for the rest of the day involve chopping some veggies, playing online and maybe watching a movie. And possibly a nap.
Oh! I slept in today! Like, for real! Until almost nine! I mean, I woke up a few times, like to call in to work, but for all intents an purposes I slept in! WooHoo!
And last night my friend D took me out for a belated birthday dinner to a really nice place in Chelsea. She told me to pick where so I picked a place I had been before for lunch. As it turns out their dinner menu is significantly pricier. Oops. But she didn't mind and it was wonderful food and I had a fish kabob which was delicious. Then we walked to ColdStone and I got something that had caramel and walnuts and fudge and decadence. Yum! And yesterday afternoon I had a Beard Papa's cream puff. You see why I was all about the rollerblading today? I am glutton, hear me belch!
T- three days until the new Harry Potter! Spoil me, bitches, and fear my wrath. *MWAH!*
