(no subject)

Went to bed at 9:15 last night. Woke up way early and went for a very long walk over the bridge, up Centre Street to Canal, over to Allen, up and over to Essex, up to Houston, over to 1st, up to 14th, over to Union Square, through the Farmer's Market then over to Sixth to get the 14th Street subway.

It was awesome.

Also, what is east of Essex? Mostly downtown as I don't know how far up it goes. Because the city just keeps going east. I thought it stopped sooner than that. And there was a bridge. It was reddish. And I think around Delancy. What bridge is that? I am drawing a big ol' blank.

Random sad

So I just had a very unexpected flash memory of my dad cackling. Really. He had the scariest Wicked Witch cackle and it used to freak me and my sister and brother out. Possibly also my mom.

I have a very vivid memory of my dad sitting in the drivers seat of one of our cars while we begged him to cackle and he would say no, no, no but then he would and we would all shreik and it was so funny and terrifying in a good way and we'd ask him to do it again.

It has been over 13 years since he has cackled like that. Probably even longer. And suddenly I miss him very much.
