I shall never be productive again . . .
Sep. 28th, 2003 12:46 amas it leads to acid indigestion.
Seriously. I was so freaking productive today. I finally *finally* organized the three shopping bags full of papers/bills/misc stuff that have been sitting in front of my TV for months. I am almost completely done. It is so freaking satisfying. And I was productive last Saturday as well.
And again with the acid reflux CRAP! ( Cut for yucky TMI )
In other news . . .
I think TWoP really fucked up my viewing for season 7 of Buffy. Why, you ask? Because I watched most of the season today while I was cleaning (well, I skipped "Help" and most of "Bring on the Night" and I fast forwarded here and there, but I watched pretty much through "Lies My Parents Told Me") and it was a freaking *great* season. I'm going to watch the last five eps tomorrow as I finish my organizing. But I realized today that I watched most of the last season or so in a TWoP frame of mind, meaning I unconsciously (Or maybe consciously occasionally) would watch and instead of just enjoying my favorite show, I was picking it apart in the places I knew would be commented on in the ep threads and thinking about how it would be ripped apart in the recaps (I didn't read the recaps, but I still felt I knew the gist of what was being said).
I've pretty much taken TWoP off my internet roster, other than the fanfic thread and the OC recaps, and I am really happy about that.
I am a Buffy Fan and No Fucking Apologies.
"Storyteller" was a wonderful ep, and in my opinion, a very smart piece that lightened the tone before things became seriously heavy.
"Him"? Cracked me up (other than the horrifically painful and mortifying parts I had to fast forward through).
"Conversations with Dead People"? One of my top ten eps. Genius. Scary and funny and really just excellent ("I'm here to kill you, not to judge you"). There isn't one segment I didn't like. Joss written Buffy/Webbs, Marti's Willow/Cassie, Jane's Dawn, Drew's Trio and whoever it was who wrote the Spike bits which were perfect.
"Selfless"? Brilliant.
The CwDP/"Sleeper"/"Never Leave Me" one-two-three? One of the best three in a row of any season. Xander and Anya playing Good cop/bad cop kicks ass. I giggled like a school girl at the "One bite stand" line from "Sleeper" that had me groaning on first viewing because I knew it would get shit in the ep thread.
Anya and Willow's spell in "Same Time, Same Place" and it getting a little sexy.
Buffy's speech at the end of "Bring on the Night"
"Potential" with Dawn handing over her power and Xanders fanfuckingtastic bit at the end ("Maybe I'll get a cape" *sniff*)
Kicking ass in "Showtime"
LMPTM with the kick ass fight at the end.
All of "Lessons" and "Beneath You" (Can we rest now? Buffy, can we rest?)
Buffy snapping and, well, snapping in "Get it Done" and the very cool shadow puppets.
"First Date" with Jonathon-slash-the-First and the reactions by Giles and Spike to WIllow trying to record it.
Everything.
I love season seven of Buffy. And I fully believe that the show went out on top. So once again I'll say:
Buffy Fan. No apologies.
