I have scary humidity hair
May. 21st, 2003 12:13 pmIt's raining in NY. Obviously Mother Nature weeping at the loss of Buffy. *sob*
I love, love, loved it. Really. I thought it was practically perfect in every way. There were tears and laughter and a fucking fabulous ending (::sniffle::).
.
- If Spike had to die, I am thrilled he died like that. With a smirk on his lips and laughter. With the echo of "I love you" in his ears (whether or not he believed it). He went out with a bang (he always knew he'd go down fighting) and he took the town and the Hellmouth with him. How apropos. *sigh* Spike. How do I love thee, let me count the ways.
- I love and adore
canadiabit for pointing this out. Buffy's last words on the show ever. "Spike. I love you. Spike" *happy sigh* Now that's what I'm talking about.
- Dawn kicking Buffy. Hee!
- Angel whining. I will never not love Angel whining. And Buffy called Angel Dawson. And we all know whom Joey chooses.
- Spike's sketch of Angel. Hee! And MmmmmSpike going at the punching bag.
- Normally I like the word 'champion' about as much as cucumbers. But when it is applied to Spike I just melt. He is a champion, damn it. Go Spike. You are the wind beneath my wings.
- Anya's death was gruesome but expected. Christ, she was almost halved. But she went down fighting. And her last word was 'bunnies'. Hee. Rest in Peace, Anya. You will most certainly be missed.
- Even in death, Spike knocks down the 'Welcome to Sunnydale' sign. Hee!
- The scoobies in the hall before the attack. Discussing what they are going to do after the apocalypse. That is the reason I love this show. And Buffy, Willow, and Xander walking off together like they are friends. Because they are. And always will be.
- Willow's giggling and "That was nifty". Go Willow. Get your mojo on!
- Xander's "That's my girl" when he heard what happened to Anya. Because I wasn't crying hard enough.
- Joss' gift to Spuffy writers everywhere. How many "fade out" fics are we going to see in the coming weeks? Not that I am complaining, mind. I would like to think that the fade out led to sex. Or heavy petting, at least. Because it's the end of the world and all. But that's just me.
- Faith and Wood's conversation in the basement. They rocked. Very funny.
- The plan itself. That was freaking great. And I loved how Giles thought it was "bloody brilliant"
- Spike's footware dream.
- The fact that this show was so incredibly wonderful and while it may not air anymore it doesn't even remotely mean it's dead. And the fact that because of this show I have made some wonderful friends and I know that I'm not losing them so that makes it better. You are all wonderful.
.
- Okay. It would have been nice to see a kiss. Not even a big "rising music" kiss, but a chaste 'I love you' kiss. Spike could die with Buffy on his lips. Maybe I will pretend that happened anyway. :)
- A little more sadness over the deaths of Anya and Spike would have been nice. I forgive it because they are probably a bit stunned by the town sinking into the Hellmouth and the succeeding of their plan and I like to think that the grieving comes later. But seeing Dawn be upset for Spike or anyone other than Xander and Andrew be upset about Anya would have been appropriate, I think.
- This is more of a not seen, but I wish the Faith/Wood scenes were a little shorter. I loved the scenes, don't get me wrong, but neither DBW or ED are regulars and I felt that they took up a bit too much time. I wish they could have given more screen time to Faith without Wood.
- The twelve year old in me would have liked a little "neener, neener" from Buffy to Giles and Wood. And I was right and we did need Spike. Don't you suck for wanting to kill him!
.
In all honesty, I would not be in as good as spirits and as forgiving of the finale if I didn't know that James was heading over to Angel next season. As Spike. the fact that Spike is coming back is deeply reassuring and so I am not just a huge mess (unlike last night). And I am firmly in the camp that believes that Buffy took Angel's shanshu and gave it to Spike. I never thought this day would come, but I would love and adore a human Spike. I can't wait to see how they bring him back. I can't wait for the Angel/Spike dynamic. I can't wait for next season.
.
