Okay, there is this song. And it's by a Neil. The problem is: which Neil sings it? The song is called, I think, "Hurricane" (not the Bob Dylan one which is completely different) and the chorus goes "You are like a hurricane/There's calm in your eye".

It's stuck in my head and I can't remember the Neil! My gut says Young, but my gut is iffy at best, so I need a definitive answer.

In case you were wildly curious, the reason the song is in my head is because my mom was gushing about a movie she just saw called The Architect and she adored it then dragged my sibs to it and now I have to go see it and call her during the film so we can hold hands (electronically) while we watch it.

And, in true Kimball (I just misspelled my last name. I am shamed) fashion, she has called the production company in New York twice to see if there is a soundtrack and has somehow managed to figure out that Neil Young has a song in the film so she has to buy the CD with the song. She called me to ask if I knew any of his music and I said that I thought he sang "Hurricane", but that may be Neil Diamond. And one of them sings "Sweet Caroline" as well, though that didn't come up in conversation. And some recent song disses one of them. I don't remember the song though. Or the artist.

Maybe it's time for Gingko.

I made a joke about stealing at work today and was told that stealing jokes were no-no's. Oops? Oh well. I am the most honest person I know (except for when I lie). I correct clerks if they give me too much money, even if it's just a quarter. Track me all you want, Feds! You'll go out of your mind with boredom.

Lastly, I have Spike hands. This is a condition I have given myself that occurs, usually, for a few hours when I get home from work. Basically, my hands are freezing. Free. Zing. And then, suddenly, they aren't. But for the few hours when they really really are, I think if it as Spike hands after many a fic where Spike has the cold hands. Cold hands=Spike. Basic arithmetic.

Ahh, it's Friday. And I am spending the weekend cleaning (I will scrub my bathroom floor, damn it! I will!) and doing homework that I can't actually do as I can't do Colored Stones until I finish Colored Stone Essentials, but I don't have the CSE books yet. *grumble* So I will continue to read CS and do the assignments at the end of the books, so when I can actually turn in the CS homework, I will have less to do! Yay! I am already on book six. Out of 27. There are also, like, 20 CSE books and a zillion Gem Ident. books.

This might take a while. Today I read about imitations, synthetics and treatments, and I have decided that I want to make a collection of all of the above. Then, when people come to visit me they will gush and so "Oh, AngelChicken! Look at the beautiful and wonderful gems you have! You must be very wealthy and successful!" and I will say "Nope. That's the crap."

I'm excited, I tell you. CZ's all around!

Since the question of it being Young has already been answered, I will add some useless commentary. On on of the MTV Unplugged cds, is this really amazing version he did on the show with a pipe organ. The song has also been covered by Patti Smith and a lovely version by the Mission UK. Yep, I like the song a lot, can you tell?
