Books I am currently reading:

- Roots by Alex Haley
- 1984 by George Orwell
- Disobedience by Jane Hamilton

And, thanks to a trip to my childhood home (where a lot of books live) coupled with a book called The Book of Great Books (W. John Campbell PhD, 1997) this is the current list of books I want to read. Really, right now. Or in the near future. Maybe it would be best if, instead of starting my new job, I took the time to read. Anyway, here's the list (in no particular order):

- The Greatest Generation by Tom Brokaw
- The Body in the Library by Agatha Christie
- Wicked by Gregory Maguire
- Valley of the Dolls by Jacqueline Susann
- The Plague by Albert Camus
- The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield
- The Lords of Discipline by Pat Conroy
- Trinity by Leon Uris
- The Clan of the Cave Bear by Jean M. Auel
- The Sound & the Fury by William Faulkner
- Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
- Moby Dick by Herman Melville
- Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad
- Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
- The Inferno by Dante Alighieri
- High Survival: A Nancy Drew & the Hardy Boys Super Mystery by Carolyn Keene (It was in my basement when I was - unsuccessfully - trying to find the Inferno. I thought it seemed like a nice palette cleanser between some of the . . . heavier books).

I might start The Clan of the Cave Bear tonight, though. It's smutty, right? And maybe a bit mindless?

I went for a nice walk with my mom today (after taking a long nap three hours after I woke up) and we talked about the important things, like the best way to kidnap a child, and what kind of ransom we could demand to make it look like it wasn't us. Fighting horses were involved.

You should know that it was my mothers idea, I was just helping with the ideas (I am proud to say that they horses were my idea. Mom wanted - pffft- dogs. WHAT ever).

I had nothing to do yesterday, today and tomorrow (until tomorrow night). Suddenly yesterday we had someone for dinner, today I am going out for drinks at a friend of my mom's place, then out to the suburbs for dinner with other friends and tomorrow (before I go to [livejournal.com profile] eep1313's Squeee!!! for Angel) I am going to lunch with another friend of my moms at the WAC, and I have to wear either a suit or a skirt. Feh.

I can't believe I've already been home a week. Vacations are too damn fast, yo.
