Last night I had a dream. And it was so apropos that I not only haven't forgotten it, but have relished in it.
For those of you who don't know, there is a book and now a Broadway musical called Wicked: The Life and times of the Wicked Witch of the West (well, the musical is just called Wicked). And as you may have guessed, it is the back story of the Wicked Witch of the West, who continues to scare the bejesus out of children (and some adults - not that I'm admitting anything) everywhere. Basically, it tells what happened in her life to make her so evil and stuff. Interesting premise. I started to read the book and then stopped because I was having problems feeling sympathetic towards the WWotW. I mean, dude. She's wicked. It's in her title. Though I am assured that as the book continues, you loose the sympathy, so I am going to try it again. After I finish Roots and 1984.
Anyway, the dream. Basically, the WWotW (Ephelba? Esmeralda? I can't remember her name, but it starts with an 'E') is a totally shy, misunderstood green witch who no one likes. She is quiet, keeps to her self. You know, the usual.
Then she goes to boarding school, and her roommate?
Dina.
I shit you not, that was my dream. The reason the Wicked Witch of the West went evil is because she had to live with Dina for four years. I was so pissed when my alarm went off, because Dina was about to get hers and that would have been so very, very satisfying.
I am still smiling over the appropriateness of the dream. Hee!

Went to brunch today with some of my favorite peeps who I haven't seen since New Years (the soul sucking took up a lot of time and energy). We brunched at the Cowgirl Hall of Fame, a fabulous restaurant in the West Village that I haven't been to in years.
Yummy TexMex fare. Definitely recommend it. I had the Texas Scrambled eggs (cheddar, peppers, onions, bacon, spicy avocado salsa on the side) with grits. Then apple pie with home made whipped cream.
Needless to say, I've done my eating for 2004. I look forward to next year when I can start again. Hopefully I won't be completely stuffed by then.
And, it is a testament to how little I have had to drink (drunken?) recently when I was buzzed off of a half of a margarita on the rocks (no salt!). Christ, I'm such a light weight.
After gorging ourselves we went across the street for drinks at The Blind Tiger which was faboo. I had Original Sin Cider, which was quite good. It's been a while since I've had it, but it was my drink of choice in college.
Randomly, my favorite Cider ad is for Jack's Hard Cider (Fuck! I don't think that's the name, but I can't for the life of me remember!) that says: Just like mom used to make, right before she got arrested. Hee!
So, all in all, a nice Sunday. Tomorrow will be busy what with the cleaning and the packing and the pedicuring and the waxing and everything. And I should probably find out my flight times from my mom. Might help.
The best thing about tomorrow, though? I won't be going to work!!!!
Life is good.
