I'm going to Hell
Jan. 20th, 2004 09:02 pmI saw John Ashcroft in the Procession of Secretaries before the State of the Union and my first though was "Good. That means if - God forbid - something does happens at the State of the Union at least John Ashcroft won't become the new president."
Is that wrong?
Also, Peter Jennings is looking aged.
Also, apparently Mr. Bush is planning on chatting a bit about the sanctity of marriage and why homosexual marriages are dirty and wrong.
*sigh*
What a dick.
Why am I watching this?
And how long before I turn it off?
And how on Earth is "One Tree Hill" still on? I don't understand!

Date: 2004-01-20 07:47 pm (UTC)After that I just turned the sound off, turning it up occasionally. I was a bit surprised at all the applause breaks, though. Man. It was so... masturbatory. Australian Parliament is way different. Through all that, Bush would've been jeered and booed at every contentious point. In fact, he was heckled when he spoke in Australian Parliament last year. Hee. The Labor pollies wore white doves, too, as a symbol of protest. Even if someone's speaking from your own side, there's no clapping, just a "Hear, Hear" whenever it's appropriate. Anyhow, it's interesting to see the contrasting styles. I doubt I'd watch again though without a Democratic President.
