I just realized something. The theme song to Smallville sounds an awful lot like the chorus to Sheryl Crow's "If It Makes You Happy". Go ahead. Simg 'em in your head. I'll prompt.
1) Somebody saaaaaave me . . .
2) If it makes you happy . . .
Similar, yes? Or maybe it's just me.
I have to go to book club (well, it's not like I'm obligated and signed in blood that I would be there, but I want to go). The book is The Hours by Michael Cunningham. I read it about two years ago and really liked it. I didn't reread it this month, though, so I am feeling kind of guilty. I remember parts of it, but I think I will be doing a lot of smiling and nodding this evening. *sigh*. Maybe if it had roots in Joss Wheadon's Buffy the Vampire Slayer instead of Virginia Woolf's Mrs. Dalloway I would have reread it. How sad. Buffy is slowly sucking the culture right out of me. But not really. If I hadn't already read the book, I would have read it. So really I'm just lazy. Also- I want to read Mrs. Dalloway. I have a ton of books that I want to read but I haven't gotten to yet. And I am suddenly wanting to read Shakespeare.
So I am leaving now to go into the city to go to Boarders (cross your fingers that the James SFX is there. For Lords sake, it's September 30th. It should be there already!) and then I am hopping on a subway to Brooklyn for my book club. Good times. Good times.

Date: 2002-09-30 02:56 pm (UTC)And I'm with you on the SFX stuff. It seems to be some sort of conspiracy to keep me away from pretty pics of my James. I can't find the damn thing at any of my usual stores. Sigh.
