First and foremost, These people are the bees knees. Thank you for being so cool and understanding. I know I am not the only one out there who has these insecurities, but it is nice to know I'm not alone. I love you guys! I have such cool friends.

Secondly, I had such a great time last night. Seriously, the exhibit was fantastic and kicked all sorts of ass (and appeared to be a rousing success, at least from my point o' view). I got there around 6:30ish, I think, though it may have been later. Or sooner. But it was in the six o'clock hour. That I know for sure.

I got there and took the elevator up (while it was still working. There was apparently an episode later) and one of the first people I saw was [livejournal.com profile] queenofthorns! I was so concerned I was going to miss her because I knew she had big bad plans with her hubby later so she had to leave a bit early. And the MTA seemed to not want me in Downtown Manhattan. But I thwarted them. In your face, Eighth Avenue line! So I bumped into Tara, and was going to say hi to [livejournal.com profile] lovebytez but she was swarmed by lesser peons minions contemporaries so I let her work her artistic mojo and made my way back to find [livejournal.com profile] nautibitz who was using tending bar and wearing the coolest shirt with a cat and mice only kind of anime and the cat was on a chair and I am doing a horrible job describing it, but it was fantastic. Really. She got so many compliments. It turns out that the shirt was one of many that were made by one of the exhibiting Artists (and how sad that I never found out which one? I suck). I spent a bunch of time with QoT and Nauti, shooting the shit and admiring the gorgeous and really interesting art and finally got to say hi to Love when she went and gathered her lady for a cigarette so QoT and I joined them and we went and huddled under an awning smoking and talking art and (shockingly) Buffy and fun stuff like that.

When we got back upstairs, I milled around for a bit admiring the art and ended up at a light table they had with pixel blocks. This was so, so cool. So cool. It was like even more three dimensional Legos because not only could you connect them top to bottom, but you could also connect them from the sides. I made a kind of gimp ‘A’ and a box. Can you feel the talent? And I was chatted up by a very sweet student who had kind of funky teeth, but that’s beside the point. I think he kind of liked me. He gave me his number and I, in turn gave him my e-mail address. I really didn’t want to give him my number. But he was nice, and possibly young, and he is only going to be in the state for another month or so. It’s all good.

I found Nauti, after the fun with Pixels, and we went for another ciggie (I really am a social smoker). When we got outside we could smell bacon. Good lord it smelled good. And every. Single. Person. Who passed by or came for a smoke commented on it.

Mmmmm, bacon.

Nauti and I ended up having a huge conversation about fic and the fandom and all sorts of fun stuff, and I met some very nice people and saw [livejournal.com profile] saussy again.

I ended up leaving at around 9:45ish and got the subway easy-peasy after saying good-bye to the lovely (Love-ly) hostesses.

Over all, it was a fabulous time and if anyone is in the New York area anytime in the near future I strongly encourage you to check out the show. Well worth your time. And you get to see Love’s book and say you know a published artist.

I’m in a good mood today. It’s been an okay day. Thus far. We’ll see how long that lasts.

Cynicism for one, please. :)

Oh, and I just spent almost $16.00 on birthday cards for my mom and brother. Hallmark stores are crack.

I'm so jealous. One of these days I really want to be with you all at one of Love's shows. Or, you know, just actually with you guys.

And hey, score with the sweet pick up from the young kid...you never know!

Also, PayPal still hates me. But I haven't forgotten.

Ummm... bacon!

Darlin', thank you so much for coming to the party at the gallery -- I really appreciate it. It was so good to see you and I had so much (drunken) fun. I'm so very glad you had a good time too. (I'm sorry we didn't get to talk as much as I would have liked, but we'll remedy that real soon when we hang out again.)

And I have to admit I actually noticed that guy checking you out ALL NIGHT LONG! He had this total attraction thing happening and kept giving you his sexy eyes. You were workin' your foxy mojo, hotstuff!!! :D
