In an effort to put off paying bills a wee bit longer, I offer a slightly more coherent reaction to last nights Angel.

But first, I have to say:

If I never see the Old Navy painter pants commercial with Fran Dresher again, it will be too soon. Go away annoying Old Navy commercials. Go. Away.

I really loved it. And, whilst rewatching it, I still loved it. And when I watched a bit more while getting ready for work, I still loved it. It was a love thing.

The very good:
- I want all of the writers to sit down and take a course on writing Spike, taught by DeKnight (with Goddard as the TA). Because that was fabulous Spike. He mostly didn't over-use the slang, he was snarkey but it wasn't strained or trying too hard. And he was confident. I loved the vampire-ghost not being afraid of the dark line.
Steve, I love you. Very much.

- Fred snarking about how dreamy Spike is. Loved that.

- Reaper was nice and creepy. And was he going after Spike with a railroad spike? I missed that.

- Wes it hot. And also? Hot. I just wish he had a bit more to do.

- Loved Gunnther. Thereloveissobestial!!!!

- Spike harassing Gunn in the bathroom. Hee!

- The whole scene with Spike in the penthouse. Very cool. I liked jaded Angel. I love and adored the whole bit on the couch. I giggled and giggled and giggled some more. And Spike called Angel Liam! I loved that!

- And I loved that the Reaper kept calling him William (but I love when he is called William. I don't know why). And the continuity of the spirits taunting Spike with being a Mama's boy. Much goodness there.

- James was on. His accent and attitude and everything was just perfect. And his chemistry with DB is superb. And hott. That's right. With an extra 't'.

- Spike fighting back. And how cool was his reclothing? Very. The "pissy little son of a bitch" line and the kicking mad ass was so, so perfect. I love this because Spike is a lover and a fighter, and he throws his all into both. So seeing him fight again was perfecto!

- The blooming of a Spike/Fred friendship. He needs a friend. She needs a Spike in her life. A beautiful friendship. Friendship, friendship, friendship.

- Spike touching things again. Yay!

- The medium cracked me up! I loved her and wish she hadn't died horribly. I would have liked to see her again.

- So much more that I can't remember off hand.

The slightly less good:
I have been jaded by UPN. I was so used to their non-existent standards and practices department that I became used to the hipbone of redemption and the almost transparent sheet.

I'll admit it. I was hoping for ass of Spike (like so many others), but I think that the WB mush have much tighter restriction. James is still pretty, though.

Overall, I was very, very satisfied. Thank you, Stevie. I lurve you.

And now, bills. But at least I am going out for Mexicoan tonight! Mmmm, nachos.

Work today is dishwater dull. And I am wearing a suit. Which sucks. But I had no choice. We have big-wigs in today. Feh.

If I never see the Old Navy painter pants commercial with Fran Dresher again, it will be too soon.

I was thinking the exact same thing. There's just something about the way Fran Drescher looks in the ad that is extremely annoying. Her clothes look all weird - the shiny pants that fit too tight on her hips and then flair way the hell out, and the black sweater that either too long or too short, because where it rests makes Fran's hips look huge, plus the colour of the sweater is faded like it's been in the wash too many times and it doesn't contrast well with the shiny pants. And Fran's hair is all flat and looks like ass. And her wink is strange and off-putting. Not to mention the actual clothing being sold, the painter's pants, are butt ugly and the models are obviously gay lovers who wouldn't give Fran a second glance, except as their fag hag.

What, me put too much thought into a commercial I hate? Never.

Snerk. I am particularly annoyed by her fake whistle. Ugh. Make it go away!
