My quandary
Apr. 17th, 2003 10:03 pmSo. Slight problem.
I went to the gastro-blah-blah-blah tonight to see what I can do about my tum-tum and its attitude problem and Dr. I-have-no-sense-of-humor listed off a bunch of foods and bevvies that I should not eat or drink:
-coffee
-oranges(actually anything citrus-y)
-milk
-mint
-pasta/tomato saucy stuff
-soda
-sweets (yet, in general. The entire sugar spectrum is aggravating apparently. bah)
-fast food
-fatty foods
-chocolate
Food that I eat on almost a daily basis:
-coffee (decaf)
-oranges
-soy milk (apparently the soyness doesn't make a difference)
-York Peppermint Patties
-Diet Coke (caffeine free)
-sweets (see: York patties)
-chocolate (see: York patties)
You see my problem.
I spent a good ten minutes bargaining with Dr. Bite-my-ass over the importance of coffee in my daily schedule as I have been drinking it every morning for approximately five years, so he finally gave permission (bah, again) to have one cup a day. Sheeyah. Like that is going to happen. Fine. I can deal with the not eating oranges (even though they are finally *finally* in season and I have been waiting for nine freaking months for that (when they are juicy and plump and the skin is thick and peels easily and the whole eating process is near orgasmic, or really good in any case) and I can deal with not having the mint. But I am only human. I need sweets of some sort, if not all the time, at last occasionally. And asking me so sacrifice my diet coke is like asking me to sacrifice my first born (well, hypothetical first born as I have no children yet). So. I am going to keep doing what I am doing without eating oranges *sniffle* ir mint. I will seriously cut back on sweets and I don't eat much fatty foods anyway so we'll see what happens.
And my doc was a humorless dick wad and if I need the nosectomy (not really what it is called, but I couldn't understand what he said but there was a 'nos' sound followed by 'ectomy' so I ran with it) I'm not sure this is the guy I Want sticking a camera down my throat. Grumble.
And AOL sucks ass.
But yay! Half day tomorrow!
