Anxiety is no joke. At the height of mine, I could hardly be in a car, even as a passenger in a 25 mph zone, and could not drive at all. Don't feel badly about doing what you have to do.
Just think... not very long ago in human history, you wouldn't even have had the train option... you'd be hoofing it and/or in a wagon train, and it would take months or years. So 20 hours really isn't that much, as that goes.
