So, I don't know, at this point, if I fell asleep in front of the movie tonight because I had a busy weekend filled with a lot of walking and farmer's marketing and museuming or if it's the final remnants of the mono clinging on with their sleepy tentacles.

I actually suspect, in this case, it's the activity.

Yesterday was busy from the get go: up at six to help mom at the farmer's market, then Peter and Clyde got to the city around ten and we went to brunch at Bistro Zinc (Peter's birthday brunch) then back to my place where I gave him a two-thirds of his prezzies (a cast iron teapot and a tribble trivet to put it on) (the third prezzie isn't here yet, stupid USPS)(I don't think I've ever watched an entire episode of Star Trek in any of it's incarnations, but I know about tribbles. I assume this is a cultural thing. Or a friend's list thing).

Then we went on the walk to Millennium Park, stopping at the other store, and we ended up with an early dinner at P.F. Chang's which was delicious and absurd.

Came home. Watched The Reduced Shakespeare Company's Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) which is still awesome and then Nick Knight with Rick Springfield, which I can't pass judgment on, per se, because I fell asleep half way through.

Today we woke up early(ish) So we could get to the Field Museum before ten so it wouldn't be crowded when we went to the "Mythic Creatures" exhibit which was *so cool*! It was all about the possible (and probable, and confirmed) origins of the mythical creatures from different cultures and how they changed and grew and spread and everything. Awesome. I really liked the Giant. And the Unicorn. And the Kraken. And the Griffin. And the phoenix.

And it's possible that some of the creatures I was more familiar with then I may have been because of Harry Potter.

I'm just saying . . .

So after that we ate and then I dragged Peter and Clyde to the gem room because I am who I am and then we stopped and saw the jade room and then we went to the amazing "Evolving Planet" exhibit which I go to every time because 1) so much to see! and 2) dinosaurs!

I remember going to see the dinosaurs about ten years ago (actually, just over ten years ago, on my 22 birthday) and, frankly, it was a disappointment. They have really done amazing things with the Museum - not just the dinosaurs but so many other things, too - and I approve of my tax dollars going there.

Then we came back and watched The Thief of Bagdad which was fantastic except I fell asleep *again* and now I am going to bed. Because I am darn tired and I have a busy (or boring) week at the other store.

I just wanted to update so that I remembered and also because it really was an excellent weekend. Yay!

All roads lead back to Harry.

Hurrah for an excellent weekend!

Did they have anything about dragons? Because I have a theory that dragons somehow managed to survive an older dinosaur epoch and cross over with early humans. Because many different cultures have dragon lore and there seems to be no reason for it.
