Snow day!

An update, as I'm sure you were all waiting with bated breath.

I am now not going out. I know! Which is to say that I was planning on conning my friend into staying at my place where we could bake cake and eat turkey chili, but I just got a call from her saying she had been waiting for the bus, was half frozen and no. So she is headed back to her place where she will call me and we will gab like teenagers. Good times.

Then I will bake Sock It To Me cake that I can bring to work tomorrow because I am kind and good and if I keep it here then I will eat the whole thing. But I've never made it before and I had some that was pretty delicious and if today isn't a good day for cake experimentation then I don't know what is!

A friend emailed me this morning to tell me that when she was walking to the bus she literally caught air the wind was so bad.

So I am home and toasty and glad to not be out and about.

What's a Sock It To Me cake? And yay! for not going out at all. Very wise move, I think.

Sock It To Me cake is just a coffee cake. I don't know, exactly, why it's called that. It's made in a bundt pan and it has a ring of pecans/cinnamon/nutmeg in the middle and a nice powered sugar/milk glaze. Quite delicious.
