A marvelous birthday weekend!

Happy Birthday to me!

I have had such a lovely weekend and I have a family who loves me and friends who love me and a cat who, I think, just tried to eat the glue part of an envelope which she appears to quite dislike.

Heh.

Friday I had a fabulous dinner with my family. We went to Devon Seafood Grill on Wabash and Chicago and I would recommend it to *everyone* who is a seafood fan.

Oh so delicious. I had sockeye salmon over a bed of lobster risotto and asparagus. And then, for dessert, there was a chocolate cake that was fine and a carrot cake that was amazing.

Dude, I don't *like* carrot cake and I wanted to bath in this. And the cream cheese frosting. And it had coconut and I HATE coconut with the burning passion of a thousand fiery suns and *still* I loved this carrot cake.

Yum.

I got a wonderful dinner and the art from Bob and my mom got me a beautiful Kate Spade bag which was *completely* unexpected and I love it. It's black and navy and I quite love it. My mom rocks.

Yesterday, on the day of my birth, I went to lunch with my family at PJ's and then got the art I linked to yesterday. And I got calls and texts from my wonderful friends and a fantastic card with a Chicken on it (!!!) from the Light Bulb Breaker/Changer. And then I went to celebrate at Moody's pub for 'twas also the birthday of my B'day twin, [livejournal.com profile] eep1313. I got to see many people I haven't seen in a while, like [livejournal.com profile] deeablo, [livejournal.com profile] disbelief11, and [livejournal.com profile] taraljc. Also, I got to eat a wonderful burger. Mmmm, meat.

Then I went to a place called Bungalow, a lounge-y place on Belmont, where I met some other friends and drank martinis and then we got hungry and had diner food at midnight.

A day of perfection.

Today I woke up and walked to the Printer's Row Book Fair. It was neat, but I didn't have the energy to fight the hoards so I ended up leaving empty handed. But I liked seeing what was around. Then I walked *back* to the Wells Street Art Fair (which had the audacity to ask for a $7 donation when last year I *know* it was five. WtF?). I didn't buy any more art, though it was close at times. And I got a few cards from dealers I like.

And I realized that my very favorite - other than my Map of Beauty - is brightly colored or black and white photography. I saw a lot of pretty and neat stuff, but the only places a really stopped to browse were the photographers.

Good to know.

All in all I would say I walked about seven miles, give or take.

I feel like I am about to fall asleep on my face. Also, other than an iced coffee, a strawberry-banana smoothie, two Ritz crackers with cheese and a corn-on-the-cob I haven't eaten anything today. I should get on that. Because of the OMGHUNGER.

Hi! Thank you for the lovely birthday wishes and cards and emails. You all rock my socks, and I suspect you always will.
