Question . . .

Does anyone know how to clean a terra cotta flower pot? I've had my aloe in such a pot and in the past few weeks I've noticed something fuzzy and crumbly developing on the side. Today at my mom's I got some new soil and I have taken the aloe out of the pot (putting it in a bowl of cool water) and I've rinsed the pot and tray in hot water making sure to get rid of all the gunk. I'm going to let it dry completely, but is that enough? I don't want it to come back! I've tried googling the answer but all I get a flower pots for sale which is not, in fact, what I need.

Any suggestions?
