Here I am! Rock me like a hurricane!
Jul. 23rd, 2004 05:10 pmGood morning, all! How're things?
I just got home from work so I'm all "Yay! It's the weekend" even though I'm going in tomorrow. I have been doing less of the updating lately because, to be quite honest, my life is dishwater dull and I have nothing to say. I use this journal as a real journal, too, meaning that all of my posts I save on a disk so that I don't lose them and can, therefore, come back to them in thirty years and see where I was on July 23, 2004. It's a thing. And I even bore myself.
But now I post. In list form, for the list knows no boundaries. Other than it's general list-y-ness.
1) Happy belated Birthday,
dreago!!!
I hope you had a wonderful day! 25 looks good on you! ;)
2) Much love and hugs to
willshenillshe who is having (and has had) much stress in her personal life. I am thinking of you all the time and really do hope for nothing but good news.
3) To EVERYONE who commented on my
summer_of_spike drabbles I seriously can not thank you enough. I have two pages of comments! Two! I don't think I have ever had two pages of comments on anything, and that includes the great HP pairing debate of, uh, '04. It was a few months ago.
I am truly beside myself. I really thought I had done such a crappy job and that they were so off the cuff and rushed. And now I think I should be hearing from the Nobel committee sometime in the near future. :D
Thank you again for all of your kind words. It has made my year. Really.
4) I came in 15th in
karenbear's Ultimate Simpson's Quiz. Much better than I expected. Still, I knew there was no way I would beat the Queen of All Things Simpson's,
canadia_bit and I'm pretty pleased. Though I suppose that I finally have to resign myself to the fact that I will never beat
jrs1980 in any sort of trivia contest. Unless it's gem related. Maybe.
I bow down to her superior knowledge of miscellany. And think maybe I should start studying harder for these exams.
5) It poured rain today in New York which was so very wonderful. Walking to work this morning (pre-rain) was like trying to wade through hot, wet, cotton bunting. Gross and gross with a side of gross.
The downpours seem to have wiped away a good deal of the humidity which is a wonderful thing.
Of course, this is New York and also July-soon-to-be-August, so I'm thinking the reprieve from the humidity will be short lived. *le sigh*
6) I might have a roommate! Now I just need a room. Baby steps, though. It's all good.
That's it for now. I think I am going to have dinner, now. I've been on a heeee-uge BLT kick this week. And salad. I went to a Farmers Market yesterday and picked up some yummy fresh produce. Yay!
