Key Concept: Most gems are minerals
May. 6th, 2004 06:09 pm1) Stone count: Twenty-Freaking-Two!!! Oh yeah, I'm the shit. I am so, so pleased. And my minimum for the week has been 18 which is really good as this was 16/17 week.
Of course, I only had a half hour lunch which gave me more grading time, but it still would have been at least 21. Hooray!
2) Yesterday I took my "Colored Stone Essentials" final. Today I got the score.
I got a 96.
Nice. Except . . . well, I knew I missed two questions and one of them I really didn't know, but the other I have been kicking myself over since eleven yesterday morning. Bah! I shoulda hadda 98! Feh.
Still, 96 is a pretty number.
And now I can do Colored Stones. As soon as California updates my records. So, really, in about six zillion years I can do colored stones. Oh well.
3) My morning, really, can only be described as Bridget Jonesian. Seriously. It was absurd. But only for the first 15 minutes.
First: I wake up at the alarm, as I do every day. But I notice an odd feeling in my left leg. Not asleep, per se, but . . . odd. "Hmm," I think to myself, "Can I walk on it?"
As it turns out, not so much. I took a step. Then another. Then ass, meet floor. So I sat on my rug, at six o'clock this morning, and had a think about my leg giving out like I thought it might. Then I realized my alarm was still on, so I quickly got up (blood flowin' to the left leg again) and turned it off.
Second: I go to take a shower. And here's the thing. In the mornings my shower has a LOT of hot water and a wee bit of cold. So I have to turn the cold up really high and the hot down really low to get a comfortable warm that'll wake me up. I do this every morning.
Today, about 30 seconds into conditioning, the water regulated. Which means I was instantly soaked in a deluge of freezing cold water. So I had to do that shower dance-n-spin where I tried to fix the temp, divert the shower head, not get conditioner into my eyes and not fall and break my neck. It was a challenge.
Third: I make it out of the shower alive (whew!) and realize that my alarm is going off. Because, like a moron, I didn't actually turn it off. No, no. I hit snooze. So I did a mad dash to my room to turn it off because I didn't want to be the annoying person who lets their alarm go forever, even though I already was one.
A truly odd morning.
4) ( I thoroughly enjoyed last night's Angel, although it appears I am in a minority. Vaguely spoilerly )
5) What the hell happened with Kirsten? Everyone is sobbing over her and I can't tape one watch the other so I'm not in the know! Tell me! Tell me now!
