Star Trek ***: So very tired.
Mar. 1st, 2004 06:02 pmBrief Oscar thoughts as I am tired and hungry, but how can I not post? It is, after all, the best night of the year.
- The opening bit rocked. So, so funny!
- Johnny Depp? Holy Hell, the man is pretty. I've been thinking about the prettiness alllll day.
- Yay for LotR, but boo for AC for being cynical and not thinking they'd sweep. I coulda won a one year subscription to US Weekly! *sigh* As it is I came in second and won the pride of knowing I came in second. I'm off my game.
- Charlize? Lay off the bronzer, sweetie. Do you have eyes?
- Did anyone see Joan Rivers? I don't think they cut to her for more than 10 combined seconds for the whole pre-show. Was she even more ghastly? Is that possible? Did her nose collapse?
- Bob hope montage. Whatever. Though, like
ghoulchick and family I was freaked out when they shot to a clip of him receiving recognition at the end because I knew he was dead. I thought he may have come back. I thought it was okay. When I told my mother this, she hung up on me.
- One of my favorite parts of the Oscars is that my mom and I call each other back and forth all night. We will sit on the phone and not say anything but watch together (Chicago, if you are curious, has about a two second delay from New York).
- I loved 'em. Always do. Wish I could say more, but I need food.
One thing I didn't like? The four-ish hours of sleep I got last night thanks, in part, to friend's annoying cat who was pawing at her door for 20 minutes. And friend, of course, didn't wake up until I opened the door for cat. Frickin' cat.
