I love that quote. It's from one of Lucy Van Pelt's stories at fanfiction.net (Protection, maybe? Or is that the name of the series?). It cracks me up.
And what happened to ff.net? It used to be my number one place to go for fic, but suddenly it is all crap. Well, a lot of crap with a few good things occasionally sprinkled in. I remember when they were having huge server problems a few years back and were down for a few weeks, and I was horribly distraught. Now it is filled with PEOPLE TYPING IN ALL CAPS and riting bad and OMG u have 2 read this!!!11!!1 and the like and that's just annoying. I like the idea of the site on principle- a place where you can post your writing for public feedback and let your muse run wild. But in practice it just annoys the fuck out of me. Maybe I've grown cynical in my old age.

Well, I'm back. New York, New York, it's a helluva town. Flight was okay, other than the hour we took off late because of a maintenance problem of sorts. Something to do with the water not so much working as not. I think, on an hour and a half flight from Chicago to New York, not having working water is no big (the bathrooms were still working, for all intents and purposes) but apparently the bigwigs at American thought this was something that needed to be dealt with *stat*, and so, on the tarmac we sat while the planes insides were messed with. But I got in and got my luggage and got home without a problem, and that's what's important. I also passed out, because traveling, even if it's not big traveling, is exhausting. I might just go to sleep in a few.
Ten days went ever so fast, but it is nice to be home and I am excited about my job starting up on Monday.
::YAWN:: Huh. Maybe I'll just go back to sleep.
Hi New York. I'm home.
By the by, a little bit of newly aquired knowledge that I am passing on in hopes of helping others. Altruistic Annie, that's me: If your bag that you are checking weighs over fifty pounds (saaaay, seventy-ish pounds) you will be charged 25 chickens for being over the weight limit. Just an FYI.
