Well, actually, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas because there are only 30-ish shopping days which means only 30-ish days left to decorate ad nauseam.
Of course, I happen to love holiday decorations. More, More, More! I always say.
So it's good.
Tonight, I hop into my Trick (and after watching gobs of Queer as Folk that takes on a whoooooole new meaning) (Trick is my car. Black, badass and often dead) and boogie on over to Chicago. Woo. Followed by Hoo.
I just want to get outa New York tonight. I would love to leave work early, but the odds of that happening are slim to none, and I just ran out of slim.
If the drive is boring, it is possible there will be AC in transit posts. "Hi. Here I am. In [insert state here, but probably Pennsylvania. I will be there forever]. Look! A cow! Moo. I played the alphabet game but have been stuck on 'Q' for about an hour and I got tired of counting the dilapidated farmhouses about three hours ago (Yes, I can count higher than 1000, but it just gets depressing). I will have to call again when I reach Gary. [singing]Gary, Indiana. Gary, Indiana. Gary, Indiana.[/singing] Ah, Gary, where, if I didn't know what to expect, I would turn right around and head back to New York. Chicago almost isn't worth it. It's an industrial town, which I respect, but it is realllllllllly smelly, too. I don't disrespect the smell, but I don't like it. Also? Traffic into Chicago practically starts backing up by Gary. Ugh.
Maybe I'll call and cheer as I cross every boarder. Yes. I cheer as I cross every boarder. It, in my opinion, is a reason to celebrate.
I just realized that I should probably figure out specifically how to get to Chicago. While saying "Get on Route 80 and make a right at Chicago" is amusing (and mostly true) I can't actually remember the turnoff. I think it is I-94 West. And I know that I won't reach it until well after 80 becomes 80/90. Maybe I'll call my mom. Or look at a map. Or stop by MapQuest. The possibilities are endless!
Anyway, the main purpose of this post is that I don't know when I will be on line again and I wanted to wish everyone a Happy and Healthy Thanksgiving. I am so thankful for my friends (both on line and in RL) and family.
Know that you are appreciated and cared for, and even if I haven't met you, I am still glad to know you!
Eat a lot of pumpkin pie. And if you don't like pumpkin pie, I don't want to know.
ps- if I do end up making in transit posts would someone be able to transcribe them for me so everyone can see? Thank you in advance. You are a princess. Yes you. No, no, not them. They suck. But you? Rock. You are the only reason I still have an lj. If you weren't here, I don't know what I'd do! Give me some sugar, baby.
