Has Total always sugared the raisins in their Raisin Bran? Because I don't remember that and I find it oddly disappointing. If I wanted sugared raisins I would have gotten my two scoops with Kelloggs.

Damn it.

Not why I posted.

I have slept horribly for two nights. Today I went to Macy's after work and purchased a new Tempurpedic pillow (well, Macy's version, anyway) for side sleepers as I am a sleeper on the side.

Maybe it will help.

Also not why I posted.

I read five (!) books in January! And so I am posting about them. Nothing long and involved, just here they are, I read them, now I have to put them here for posterity and maybe to keep a log of how many books I read in 2009.

We shall see.

Mostly I've been reading before bed in hopes it will help me sleep.

Is it helping.

1. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (reread) As before, I quite love this book. Enjoyable, a thoroughly satisfying to a long adventure and an excellent novel. Two thumbs up and a plucky spirit! (And I might have linked to that particular copy of the book because Viggo is hot)(maybe).

2. A Girl's Guide to Dating A Geek Entertaining, informative, a must for any girl who is dating or thinks she might be dating a geek.

3. The Neverending Story I quiet liked the first half, though I didn't love it. I'm happy to have read it. The second half I just didn't care for. Still glad to have read it.

4. The Golden Compass I liked it. Didn't love it. Happy to have read it. Actually, I felt like I should have liked it a lot more then I did.

5. The Subtle Knife Having finished the Subtle Knife I am going to return The Amber Spyglass tomorrow. I am just not interested in what happens next. I don't know why. This series should be pinging my buttons big time, but I just couldn't get into it.

So, there you have it! Five books!

Next month I will bring you the delights of The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay and probably something else not yet determined.

Yay! Books!

I have had a very nice morning, I must say. My sister and I got pedicures and then we forced my brother to meet us at The Original Pancake House for breakfast. When he got there Jenny and I hid behind menus while he looked for us, much like in any RomCom that involves cute girl trying to spy on boy of desire or some such. Gotta say, it was funny.

Then Jenny and I went to the Newberry Library Book Fair which was, unsurprisingly, overwhelming but I did get this book because it was sitting there, begging to be purchased and how could I not? And how had it not been snatched (heh, snatch) up already?

Much like my copy of Hugh Hefner's "Century of Sex" I assume that this book will reside on the top of my bookcase as a laugh and then one day my children - who, let me be clear, don't exist yet - will find it, maybe when they're about ten, and will spend the next several years sneaking pictures of it when I am not home.

I also bought Better Homes & Gardens' Cooking with Cheese.

I mentioned last night that I might be posting some pictures of my cat.

Well, I did.

Also featured: my messy living room, trees.

A rollicking good time.

Now I have to finish my reread of DH because even though I have already read the end twice the second time wasn't in order and I wan to reread the whole thing in order because I DO! JEEZ! What's with the interrogation?
